Seeking for the safest method of providing seabed gravity sampling. Misr Marine offers  its  valued  costumers the latest method  of  having  gravity  samples  without the usual risks accompanied with the traditional methods.

 

    The opposite picture illustrates the operation of the gravity core we use, a pilot weight attached to the gravity core with a release mechanism, once this weight reaches the seabed it releases the gravity core straight to the bottom. No need for the free fall which causes a risk to the operators.

 

    Also, in Misr Marine, we have the capability of providing different   sorts  of  Geotechnical   survey,   including  grab samplers, gravity cores, CPT, Box core, vibro core…etc.

 

 

    In hard soils  or  in  sites  where it is hard to get a sea bed gravity sample or up to the job  requirements,  here comes the option of using Grab sampler a simple  method  to  get  a sample of the seabed.

Nearshore and Offshore Site Investigations


The following geotechnical site investigation techniques can be conducted from shallow draft vessels, barges and jack up rigs in water depths up to 20 meters and from anchored and dynamically positioned vessels in water depths greater than 20m.

· Vibrocoring and gravity coring services

Nearshore projects conducted by MMSS and its personnel have include geotechnical investigations for port breakwaters, channel dredging, breasting dolphins, RoRo jetties, cable shore approaches and pipeline landfalls and outfalls.

Projects conducted Offshore by MMSS and its personnel include geotechnical investigations for piled and gravity base foundation design, jack up stability, subsea templates, oil and gas pipelines, cable routes and windfarms.

 

Deepwater Investigations


MMSS are able to provide deepwater geotechnical investigations through working agreements with providers of deepwater geotechnical equipment. The following services can be provided in water depths up to 3500m with standard equipment.

· Deepwater Piston gravity coring

· Deepwater Box coring

· Deepwater Seabed Piezocone penetration testing (PCPT) including large cone

· Deepwater Seabed ‘T’bar testing

· Deepwater Seabed Vane testing

Deepwater projects are conducted under the supervision of MMSS geotechnical engineers using subcontracts where necessary to provide equipment. All sample handling, laboratory testing, geotechnical data reduction, geotechnical interpretation, reporting and engineering is performed by MMSS. Suitable projects include deepwater investigations for suction/anchor pile design, gravity based structures and seabed pipelines.

Geotechnical Survey will be carried out to perform the technical requirement along the surveyed area and to collect detailed information about stratigraphy and characteristics of the first underlying strata.

The geotechnical investigation will be performed using a piston gravity corer in the survey area from a dedicated vessel.
